OGameX Configuration Tools

The Configuration area in Settings can export reusable bot settings, import a saved file, export logs for troubleshooting, or reset account-specific bot settings. Use these tools before large changes and when moving a known setup between browsers.

Overview

Configuration files are intended for preferences such as enabled routines, targets, pauses, origins, and limits. Licence information and short-lived runtime values are excluded. Importing a file does not activate a licence and should not be treated as restoring an exact moment in an automation queue.

If access or account selection is the problem, return to the Getting Started guide instead of resetting configuration.

Configuration export is different from the in-game Import/Export trader described in Daily Utilities. One produces a settings file; the other can spend a selected resource to buy a game item.

Export a Configuration

Select Export file after you have a stable, reviewed setup. The browser downloads a file named for the current player. Keep a copy before changing many targets, importing another setup, or resetting settings.

Create a new backup whenever you make an important change to:

  • scheduled or dynamic pauses;
  • Main Fleet, Bank, farm, or expedition origins;
  • Defender destinations and live-action settings;
  • building or research target levels;
  • Auction spending limits and protected players;
  • Bank reserves, daily collection, or transport choices.

Store backups with a date and account label so you can identify them later. Avoid editing the file manually; use the extension interface to change settings and export a fresh copy.

Import a Configuration

Select Import file and choose a configuration you exported previously. After the import succeeds, the page reloads so the restored settings can be shown.

An imported selection may refer to a planet, moon, player, or target that does not exist on the current account. Before starting the bot, review:

  1. Every enabled sidebar feature.
  2. Scheduled pause hours and local-time expectations.
  3. Main Fleet and Bank celestial coordinates.
  4. Expedition and farm origins.
  5. Defender preferred and fallback destinations.
  6. Auto Build and Auto Research target levels.
  7. Auction bid limits and payment resource.
  8. Daily utility checkboxes.

Importing from another account should be treated as a starting template, not a ready-to-run setup. Let universe and celestial discovery finish, then replace missing selections.

Export Logs

Export logs downloads recent diagnostic information associated with the current account. Use it when support asks for details or when a feature repeatedly reports a failure that cannot be explained by its visible settings.

Review the file before sharing it. Send it only through a support channel you trust and only when it is relevant to the problem. A log export is not a configuration backup and cannot restore feature settings.

Reset Bot Settings

Reset bot settings removes reusable bot preferences for the current account while keeping protected licence and essential account values. The page reloads after the reset.

Export a backup first unless you deliberately want a clean setup. After reset, expect to configure timing, pauses, Main Fleet, feature toggles, targets, and limits again. Do not assume the reset changes your OGameX game account or cancels a paid licence.

Use reset when a configuration is badly mismatched, an old imported setup contains many invalid selections, or support recommends starting clean. For a single incorrect feature, disabling and correcting that feature is usually less disruptive.

  1. Stop the bot before importing or resetting settings.
  2. Export the current known-good configuration.
  3. Name and store the backup clearly.
  4. Import only a file you recognize.
  5. Review all account-specific origins and destinations.
  6. Start one module and supervise its first action.
  7. Export a new backup after the restored setup is verified.

Troubleshooting

  • The import is rejected: confirm it is an unchanged configuration file produced by the extension and contains valid data.
  • Settings reload but targets are missing: allow account discovery to finish and replace selections that do not exist on this account.
  • A licence is not restored: licence data is intentionally excluded; activate access through the Licence subtab.
  • Logs do not restore settings: log exports are for investigation, not backup.
  • Reset removed more than expected: restore a known configuration backup, then review every feature before starting.

FAQ

Does a configuration export include my licence key?

No. Licence and protected access information are excluded from normal configuration files.

Can I import settings on another OGameX account?

You can use a file as a template, but every account-specific celestial, player, target, and schedule must be reviewed and corrected.

Does configuration import restore active queues exactly?

No. It restores reusable preferences, not every temporary runtime state or in-progress action.

When should I export logs?

Export them when investigating a repeated problem or when support asks for relevant diagnostic information.

Should I reset before trying ordinary troubleshooting?

Usually not. First stop the affected feature and check its visible settings. Reset is best for a broadly invalid or unwanted configuration.
