OGameX Auto Research
Auto Research upgrades supported technologies using one selected planet, individual technology toggles, target levels, and a priority order. Research levels are account-wide, but OGameX still needs a planet with a Research Lab to begin an upgrade.
Overview
The feature considers the first enabled technology in priority order that is below its positive target and currently available. It waits when another research is active, resources are missing, prerequisites are unavailable, or no research planet is selected.
The current OGameX research list covers the standard technologies displayed by the feature, including its OGameX-specific technology names. It does not present a separate lifeform-research planner.
Select the Research Planet
Choose Planet with Research Lab from the detected planets. Select a reliable source with the laboratory and resources required for your research plan.
Research levels are global, so changing the selected planet does not create a second independent level set. The selected planet determines where the next upgrade request begins.
If no planets appear, run Expeditions or Auto Build once to discover the account’s planets. A previously selected missing planet remains visible as unavailable until you replace it.
Review the selection after moving settings between accounts, abandoning a colony, or importing a configuration.
Refresh Current Levels
Select Refresh levels when the snapshot is missing or out of date. The feature updates levels when it next runs. The Status card shows the latest result, last research when available, and when levels were updated.
Do not set a target based on an obviously stale current value. Refresh first, then compare the displayed current and target levels.
Use Run now after correcting the research planet or priorities. It requests another consideration but cannot bypass an active research queue, missing resources, or prerequisites.
Enable Technologies and Set Targets
Each row has an independent toggle, current level, and target level. A technology must be enabled and have a target above its current level.
Set one or two small goals for the first test. A target of zero creates no positive goal. Disabling a row lets you preserve its target without allowing it to start.
Supported choices shown by the current feature include espionage, computer, combat, energy, propulsion, hyperspace, laser, ion, plasma, intergalactic research, astrophysics, graviton, and the additional mineral, crystallization, fuel, and cargo technologies available in OGameX.
Use the game’s displayed names and prerequisite information as the final reference for availability.
Arrange Priority
Drag technologies or use the arrows to move them. The first available enabled research below target is selected when the queue is free.
Priority does not bypass prerequisites. If the first item is blocked or unaffordable, the feature can consider another eligible target. Keep related prerequisites near the work they support so the order remains understandable.
Avoid assigning large targets to every technology. A short plan makes resource use and Bank requests easier to review.
Status Results
Research started confirms an upgrade began. Research queue busy is a normal wait. Targets complete means enabled positive targets have been reached. No targets configured means no eligible goal exists. Select a research planet identifies a missing origin. Waiting for resources, Blocked, and Retry scheduled require reviewing affordability, prerequisites, or the latest message.
The last-research field helps confirm which priority was selected. Compare it with the expected order after each configuration change.
Working with Bank and Auto Build
Bank can supply research requirements when Allow Bank for research is enabled. Check Bank reserves, cargo ships, fleet slots, and the transfer queue before expecting immediate progress.
Auto Build may upgrade the Research Lab or supporting facilities, but building and research queues remain separate account decisions. Coordinate targets so both features do not compete aggressively for the same resources.

Recommended Setup
- Discover planets and select one with a Research Lab.
- Refresh current levels.
- Enable one reachable technology.
- Set its target one level above current.
- Move it to the top of priority.
- Keep Bank research support off for the first direct test or configure it conservatively.
- Watch the first result and level refresh.
- Add other targets gradually.
Troubleshooting
- No research planet is available: allow planet discovery to run, then select a detected planet with a laboratory.
- Queue busy: wait for the current research to finish.
- No targets configured: enable a row and set a target above its current level.
- Blocked: check prerequisites and the selected planet’s laboratory.
- Waiting for resources: review available stock and Bank research support.
- The wrong technology starts: inspect enabled rows and their final priority order.
FAQ
Why must I select one planet if research is global?
OGameX still requires a planet with a Research Lab to start the upgrade even though the resulting level is account-wide.
Can Auto Research manage several targets?
Yes. It evaluates enabled technologies by priority, but a short list is easier to verify and fund.
Does it include a separate lifeform planner?
No. The current OGameX interface presents one supported research priority list rather than a separate lifeform module.
Can Bank provide missing research resources?
Yes, when Bank and research support are enabled and the transfer requirements can be satisfied.
What does targets complete mean?
Every enabled technology with a positive target has reached the requested level.
