OGameX Auction Protected Bidders

Protected bidders are players the Auction feature should not automatically counterbid while they are leading. You can select individual players and optionally protect every recognized member of your alliance.

Overview

Protection uses the latest completed universe scan. Complete Universe Scan before searching for players or enabling alliance protection. A partial scan is not enough to represent the full universe reliably.

Protected does not mean targeted. When a protected player is the highest bidder, Auction waits instead of submitting a counterbid. If someone else leads later, the normal tier, price, timing, and resource rules are evaluated again.

Review the main Auction configuration guide before raising any tier maximum.

Select Individual Players

Use the search field to find a player by name or alliance. Results come from the completed scan. Select the players whose leading bids should be respected.

The saved protection follows the player identity after a later scan observes a name change. If an older saved name cannot be matched uniquely, the interface reports it as unresolved. Do not assume an unresolved entry is currently protected.

Review the selected list after each major universe refresh. Remove players you no longer need and resolve unavailable entries before raising Auction maximums.

Protect Your Alliance

Protect my alliance tells Auction to avoid counterbidding against members of the alliance associated with your scanned player record.

The card shows the detected alliance and member count when available. If no alliance is found, verify that the completed scan includes your current player information and that alliance membership was present at completion.

Alliance protection updates with later completed scans. A player who joins or leaves is reflected after fresh data replaces the previous snapshot. During a new scan, the prior completed membership remains the stable reference.

Understanding Missing and Unresolved Entries

An unavailable player may have changed name, left the scanned universe, or not appear in the latest completed data. An unresolved legacy name has not been matched to one unique player.

When an entry is missing:

  1. Check the last universe-scan completion time.
  2. Search the player’s current name.
  3. Search by alliance when the name is uncertain.
  4. Replace the unavailable selection with the correct current result.
  5. Observe one auction to confirm protected-bidder status is displayed.

Do not raise maximum bids until protection data is available and selections are verified.

How Protection Affects Auction Decisions

Protected-player checks are one part of the bidding decision. Auction also needs a supported tier, a positive maximum, sufficient resources, a valid source, and an eligible approximate bid window.

When a protected bidder is leading, the Current Auction result reports that state. The feature waits and checks again later. It does not remove your existing bid or communicate with the protected player.

If you are leading, Auction also avoids bidding against itself. These states are different but both produce a wait rather than an unnecessary new bid.

Privacy and Responsible Use

Use protection to prevent unwanted competition with known players or alliance members. Do not treat the player list as a reason to contact, pressure, or target people. The feature applies a local bidding preference to your own automation.

The universe snapshot can become outdated. Review it rather than presenting protection as permanent. OGameX Helper Bot is independent and cannot guarantee the behavior or availability of other players.

  1. Let the first universe scan complete.
  2. Confirm the completion date and your detected alliance.
  3. Search and add one known player.
  4. Enable alliance protection if desired.
  5. Keep Auction tier maximums low.
  6. Observe the Current Auction result when a protected player leads.
  7. Review selections after later completed scans.
  8. Resolve unavailable names before increasing spending limits.

Troubleshooting

  • Search has no results: wait for a completed universe scan and verify the spelling.
  • Alliance is not detected: check whether your player and membership appear in the completed data.
  • A player is unavailable: search the latest name and replace the stale selection.
  • Auction still bids: confirm the protected player was actually the highest bidder at the final check.
  • Old membership remains during scanning: the previous completed snapshot stays active until the refresh finishes.

FAQ

Does adding a player make Auction bid against them?

No. It does the opposite: Auction avoids an automatic counterbid while that player is leading.

Does protection require a universe scan?

Yes. Individual search and alliance membership depend on the latest completed snapshot.

What happens when a protected player changes name?

A later completed scan can update the name while retaining the matched player identity.

Are new alliance members protected immediately?

They are reflected after a completed scan records the updated membership.

Can protection override a bid already submitted?

No. It influences future automatic decisions and does not remove an existing bid.
